Animals available for adoption will be listed, with their profiles, on the One at a Time Facebook page or website. If you see an animal you feel will be the perfect fit for you or your family, you can submit your interest via the online application form. Every application will be considered, and those most suitable will be contacted for a short phone chat, followed by a meet and greet, and then a home check. The following process has been successful in re-homing over a thousand animals into happy, loving and life long homes.
All animals available for adoption have been vet checked, de-sexed and micro-chipped. This includes addressing any known health concerns prior to adoption, and making sure their vaccinations are up to date and that they have been wormed and flea treated. The adoption fee covers all pre-adoption care and vet work, and helps fund future rescues and surrenders. It varies depending on the type of animal, age and temperament and is available via application.
All our animals spend time in foster care before being adopted. During this time the carer gets to know the animal’s temperament, personality, and energy levels. They also observe how each animal interacts with adults, children, and other pets, and if they would thrive best in an indoor only or indoor/outdoor home. So, while it might often feel like a case of love at first sight, we highly recommend you read each animals profile and consider how their needs and personality might fit with your family or lifestyle. Our adoption process will then help guide you further.
