If you’re looking for that companion who wants to be fully part of the family, then meet Tom!  He’s a strikingly handsome Tabby (12 months old) who adores humans.  He’ll greet you with ‘dog-like’ enthusiasm when you walk in the door; purring against your legs, talking to you, and hoping you’ll scoop him up for a cuddle.  Being only a young boy, he has energy to burn and needs a family who have the time and space for him to chase toys, do his zoomies around the house, and then curl on a lap for a snuggle.  He isn’t a fan of other cats, but is a super fan of undivided human attention, so would need to be your one and only.

Cats and Dogs can live up to 20 years, so it’s really important that you select a pet that is going to fit with your personality, household dynamics, and future plans.

Or, would you prefer a pet that is outgoing or independent and that would slot perfectly into a busy home? It’s also important to consider the personality and temperament of any existing pets. Housing and Council Regulations

The regulations for pet ownership differ between councils, this includes the requirement for registration, curfews for cats, and on/off leash walking for dogs. These are often easily found on each council website.

Costs associated with owning a pet

All OAAT pets are vaccinated, desexed and microchipped prior to adoption.   They will also be up to date with all worming and flea treatments.  This is all covered in the adoption fees (which generally range from $200 – $900 depending on the type and age of the animal).
